Sangunarians (or Sanguivores) are vampires that feed on blood to get energy. Awakenings for sangs generaly happen around puberty, but can happen at any point in the life span. Prolonged periods without access to blood generaly leads to withdrawl symptoms, ranging from head-ache, nausia, and difficulty concentrating, all the way to migranes, tremor, extreme irritability, depression and mood swings, and in some extreme cases, fainting and convulsion. These are rare, thankfully, and the most common symptoms of lack of blood is lethargy and irritability.

It's fairly common for sangs to have psi-like traits, like energy manipulation, or be hybrid vampires, who can feed on both blood and raw energy.
